CIRS of Anhui University contribute to the Going-out Strategy of Anhui Province

On the morning of December 29th, Anhui University held a ceremony to launch the Center for International and Regional Studies (CIRS). Director of Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Wang Xin and AHU President Cheng Hua jointly inaugurated CIRS. DFA Deputy Director Li Changli also attended the ceremony, which was chaired by Vice President Wang Qunjing.

At the ceremony, directors of all CIRS institutes gave an update on their development in terms of cultural exchange, academic research, discipline development, government think tank and external cooperation. Also present at the ceremony were directors of relevant DFA sections and AHU departments.


The Center for International and Regional Studies (CIRS) is a brand new think tank jointly sponsored by Anhui Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs and Anhui University. CIRS will meet the needs of Anhui in the course of reform and opening up, and focus on research regarding theories, practices and policies of opening up and global strategies for Anhui; provide governments and corporations with strategic consultation and decision-making support, and integrate researchers and professionals from AHU and relevant departments, universities and corporations within the province to promote international and regional studies; offer intellectual support, decision-making consultation, theoretical discussion and practical analysis for national diplomacy and provincial opening up as a think tank to the provincial government; and provide better services for Anhui in its Going-Out strategy.
